We Said "I Do" in Las Vegas on 6/6/26: A Reader's Wedding Story

A gold stretch limo, a chapel where Jon Bon Jovi also married, and a crazy idea that came true. Jenny shares how she met the man she married.

Friends, today we get to send our warmest congratulations to a pair of newlyweds and start the week on a happy note. Our reader Jenny wrote to us from the U.S. to tell us about her Las Vegas wedding to her sweetheart, Arne. Straight out of a movie, I'm telling you! Here's to the happy couple!

Dear Jenny, warmest congratulations on your wedding! How, when, and where did you celebrate?

We got married two days ago, on June 6, 2026, in Las Vegas. It was in one of those classic chapels you know from the movies. It's one of the oldest in town, and Jon Bon Jovi got married there too.

It's all still so fresh! When you think back to this past Saturday, what feelings come up? Did it feel like a movie?

There were so many emotions all at once! There was the excitement, there was that totally cliché feeling, and there was so much love. And a harebrained idea has actually become reality... It really was a little like a movie. A gold stretch limo picked us up at the hotel, and we had a wonderful ceremony at the Graceland Chapel.

Why did you decide to get married in Las Vegas?

It honestly started as a harebrained idea last year. We figured June 6 was probably booked solid in Germany, and somehow we landed on Las Vegas. We both love that rock 'n' roll lifestyle, and it just felt like us.

How did you organize everything, and did it all really go as planned?

Arne and I just googled around and came across the ceremonies on Get your Guide. It was totally easy, and everything went off without a hitch. We could even book the ceremony in German, and we had a wonderful, kind officiant there on site.

How did the people around you react to your plans? Did anyone come along?

Overall, the people around us reacted really positively and were so happy for us, even though we flew out on our own.

Tell us about the beginning. When did you first see your husband, and what did you fall in love with?

Our parents were probably a little sad too, but of course they were happy for us, and they helped out with our kids. Our kids took it well and were just as happy for us. And since we want to have a little celebration back home, we'll get another chance to celebrate with everyone.

When did you know: he's the one, the one I can get through all the ups and downs with?

We met two years ago at a party, right when I was in the middle of a difficult breakup from my ex. From the start he was a total gentleman. He listened to my problems and worries and kind of walked me through the breakup, completely selflessly! He'd been through the same thing a few years earlier, so he could give me good advice, and he simply caught me when I was falling.

I didn't want a new relationship right after that breakup, but luckily he stayed so persistent that I decided to give it a chance after all. And I thank the good Lord to this day that I chose him... After just a few weeks, I knew he was the one.

We have so many shared interests and so much else in common. We should have crossed paths a thousand times already, at concerts and such. We've been through some highs and some serious lows, and they've only brought us closer together.

From the very beginning it was so harmonious. He took loving care of my daughter, and his son warmed up to us after a while, too. Today we're a truly wonderful blended family.

How lovely! Are you still planning a honeymoon, or is the U.S. now your wedding location and vacation in one?

The U.S. is now our wedding location and our vacation in one. In the next few days, we want to go to Los Angeles and the Grand Canyon. On the flight home, we have a layover of several hours in New York, and we want to make the most of that with a little sightseeing, too.

What are you most looking forward to now as a married couple?

We're most looking forward to our next adventures and trips as a family, and to everything that's still ahead of us. We're just happy and grateful that we found each other, and that we got to marry our best friend.

Thank you for this interview and for the chance to tell you about our wonderful day! You guys are great. Keep up the great content...
